Upgraded trainer Su-25UB made its maiden flight
Combat trainer Su-25UBM made by Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant on December 6 made its first test flight near Moscow Kubinka, the press service of the company. Flying aircraft with an upgraded onboard equipment lasted 35 minutes and gave the signal for the initial phase of flight testing.
Su-25UBM is to realize the full range of innovation that Su-25SM has put into service and thereby provide the training for the Russian Air Force pilots across the spectrum of possibilities of combat aircraft. Successful completion of state testing of the upgraded training and combat aircraft will allow the Ministry of Defense of Russia to put it into service as a full-fledged combat units, and as a trainer for training pilots of the Su-25SM.
Until the end of the year, the first prototype Su-25UBM must be submitted for state joint tests which are scheduled for completion in 2009. In the following year，there will be a second one to join him. ( 原计划2009年完成的国家验收试验推迟到了2011年完成）
Currently, the Russian Defense Ministry is considering the purchase of these aircraft . In addition, several other countries have expressed interest in acquiring the Su-25UBM.
