The Russian-French SaM146 engine that powers Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) airliners has logged over 620 thousand flight hours in operation. The SaM146 engine, produced within the 50/50 partnership between Safran and UEC, is successfully operated all around the world by well-known airlines such Russian Aeroflot, Mexican Interjet and Irish CityJet.
UEC and Safran, PowerJet mother companies, are both exhibiting SaM146 engines at their respective stands at Paris Air Show 2017 in Le Bourget (France).
SaM146 is an integrated power plant which includes the engine and the nacelle equipped by a thrust reverser. The deliveries of SaM146 and all the after-sales services are performed by PowerJet, a joint venture formed on the principles of equal representation by Safran Aircraft Engines and Russian UEC-Saturn (a part of the United Engine Corporation, UEC). UEC-Saturn is a developer and producer of the fan, the low-pressure compressor and the low-pressure turbine, and is also responsible for the final engine assembly and its testing. Safran Aircraft Engines is a developer and producer of the high-pressure compressor, the combustion chamber, the high-pressure turbine, the gearbox, the FADEC system. The French company also performs the overall integration of the power plant and is responsible for the final engine assembly and ground tests.
The leading engine of Yakutia Airline has reached 7,800 flight hours; the leading Interjet engine has surpassed 6,400 flight cycles.
Since starting revenue service in 2011, the SaM146 engine has demonstrated the exceptional performance in service, with an engine dispatch reliability of 99,9%. Such performance is based on Safran Aircraft Engines and UEC experience in commercial engines to develop the SaM146. Its optimised design improves performance and facilitates on wing maintenance to keep up with the best rate of availability.
SaM146-powered SSJ100 are currently used by 15 operators. Some of them are conducting very intensive operations in harsh environments
In order to build the world class after-sales support system, two spare part distribution centres are operating in Russia (Lytkarino) and France (Villaroche). Such localisation of the warehouses lets us to deliver spare parts practically anywhere around the world in 24 hours. Two training facilities for airlines' technical personnel also function there. The round the clock customer support centre and a web-portal are also in operation.
The SaM146 is offered in two versions which are developed and certified in accordance with the Russian and European requirements: 1S17 and 1S18 for SSJ100-95B, SSJ100-95LR and SSJ100 B100 planes, 1S17С and 1S18С for VIP-versions of SSJ100.
UEC (United Engine Corporation, a part of the Rostec State Corporation) is specialising in development, serial production, service and support of engines for military and civil aviation, space programmes and navy, as well as oil and gas industry and power generation.

Since the beginning of July 2017 Sukhoi Superjet 100 has successfully performed flights to one of the oldest airports of Northern Europe – Bromma (Sweden). It has relatively short runway of 1660 m and it is situated within the boundaries of the city, unlike most European airports. Besides, for landing in Bromma, SSJ100 needs only 1425 m even loaded with maximum landing weight.

The improved takeoff performance has been successfully confirmed during the certification as a result of a series of actions aimed at SSJ100 improvements for certain customers tasks. The aircraft within the customers fleet were upgraded by the B100 option – the increased thrust engine with maximum takeoff weight, avionics software optimization as well as the lift devices control system improvements – all that allowed to reduce the necessary takeoff and landing distance.

Moreover, one of the main demands of Bromma authorities was completely met up with: the noise level reduction for the environment due to the houses situated close to the runway. The Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company, the SSJ100 manufacturer, put into practice the environment noise level not more than 89 Db if measured in three points, in full compliance with ICAO Annex16.

SSJ100标准最大满载起飞跑道长1731 m,短距离性能比标准要求跑道少了306米,距离少了18%,距离减少还是很可观的

"Мы сегодня с Interjet провели переговоры, они подтвердили готовность заключить контракт на 10 SSJ, это новый контракт", — рассказал он.
Interjet является одним из крупнейших эксплуатантов SSJ100, выполняя полеты с 2013 года. Interjet уже имеет контракт на 30 самолетов SSJ100. Мексиканской авиакомпании уже поставлено 22 воздушных судна

     MS-21和SSJ100被称作俄罗斯振兴民机产业的“双子星”,也是未来俄罗斯市场上对抗欧美产品的主力机型。航展开幕日当天,阿兹姆航空公司(Azimut Airlines)收到了他们订购的首架SSJ100支线客机,这架飞机将于今年8月投入航线运营。阿兹姆航空公司在今年3月向苏霍伊民机公司(SCAC)订购了4架SSJ100客机,预计到明年4月将全部交付。

The 300th Russian-French SaM146 current engine for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft has been assembled at UEC – Saturn (operating as part of Rostec's United Engine Corporation) and delivered to Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company. To date, the SaM146 engine fleet has logged over 700,000 flight hours.

The SaM146 is an integrated power plant that incorporates an engine and a nacelle equipped by a thrust reverser. Deliveries and all after-sales services on the SaM146 are performed by PowerJet, a Franco-Russian joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and UEC – Saturn. UEC – Saturn, operating as part of Rostec State Corporation, is responsible for the design and manufacturing of a fan, a turbine and a low-pressure compressor, as well as for the general assembly and testing of the SaM146 engine, while the area of responsibility of Safran Aircraft Engines (France) covers a compressor, a high-pressure turbine, a combustion chamber, an accessory gearbox, AFC and power plant integration. The SaM146 engine and its manufacturing process are certified to the EASA and IAC AR regulations.

The SaM146 completed its certification tests in 2010 entering commercial operation as part of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner in 2011. Today, the SaM146 powers international operators' aircraft both in Russia and overseas, specifically in Mexico, Ireland, Thailand (Royal Air Force) and in Kazakhstan.

"The SaM146 engine and the Sukhoi Superjet 100 are available both in and outside Russia, says SaM146 program manager at UEC – Saturn Mikhail Berdennikov. The operational experience of our engines is extremely successful in a broad range of climatic conditions, whether it be Mexico, where it is hot and high, or Yakutia, where it is cold. The engine provides excellent flight performance everywhere. The power plant has a dispatch reliability of 99.9%, which meets the best-in-class standards. At present, we have four certified variants of the SaM146: 1S17 – a baseline version; 1S18 – an improved thrust version; and two more variants – 1S17С and 1S18С – corporate aircraft versions."To uphold the world class quality standards, two SaM146 spare part distribution centers have been set up in Lytkarino, outside Moscow, and in Villaroche, France. Locating the warehouses in this manner enables the delivery of spare parts virtually anywhere around the globe in 24 hours. There are two training facilities for airlines' technical personnel and two customer support repair centers in Russia and France. A round-the-clock customer service web-portal has also been introduced.

The engine design allows a flexible after-sales service, remarks Mikhail Berdennikov. It can be quickly removed from the wing. The engine is suitably accessible. It makes an easy job of replacing components when it is in line maintenance. The SaM146 has a modular design and in keeping with the maintenance status concept it obviates the need for complete disassembly if parts need to be replaced or repair work needs to be carried out on one of its units. As for passenger comfort and applicable environmental considerations, it should be noted that the SaM146 engine fulfills relevant international standards. The engine runs quietly making it feel comfortable inside."

Rostec Corporation is a Russian corporation that was established in 2007 to facilitate the development, production and export of high-tech industrial products designed for civilian and military applications. The Corporation comprises over 700 organizations that are currently part of eleven holding companies operating in the military-industrial complex and three holding companies working in civilian industry, as well as 80 directly managed organizations.
